It depends on the type of custom you are looking for. I lump customs into 3 categories: 1-Your own custom character made, 2-Customizing an existing character, 3-customizing, enhancing, punching up someone else's mask (like improving a TrickRTreat Meyers Mask). Most people are looking for #1 or 2. I do not do #3.
#1 Starts around $500 and includes exclusive rights for production and resale and includes 1-2 prototypes. Price varies on size, complexity, and material additions (such as hair or large horns)
#2 About $50-$100 more than the original character price. Character elements can also be combined to create a unique one-off creature, but won't be easily reproducible as if you had your own mold (#1).

And so much more.
It all started with Alla Xul Elu (A.X.E.) and has since included: S.O.N., Keagan Grimm, Michigan Misfits, Kung Fu Vampire, Famz, Hellz Bellz, D.E.A.N., Psykoziz, Lucifer Crowley, Ill Fortune (the M.U.D. mascot), Zagan Voorhees, Big Sherm, Droku, Deadkamp, Billy Obey, Swivel Dirty, Rob Eerie, Toxin, Komatose, Jonathon Hellhouse and I'm sure there are even more out there wearing my work that I am not aware of.
People often want to get their face cast in hopes it will make their mask fit better. That is true, it will, but the added time and cost to do so for a minimal impact often isn’t worth it. Plus, you need to make it into my studio to get cast, and that can create issues as well. What’s critical is that your sculptor understands the key dimensions and can plan accordingly. I have put together this cheat sheet for my clients to use in helping me understand the various dimensions of their dome piece.
